I manage to watch whole premiere and not impressed. Black twitter seems to like it but I do not like it. The acting is bad and not even queen latifah or fineass lenney kravitz can save the show.

Those red wigs on Queen Latifah made her look 60. Her character should know better, owning an Atlanta hair salon! Her hair should always be on fleek.
The "girls" looked closer to 30, not 17, 18. And damn, even fine Ben Bratt looked 68.
Bad lighting, perhaps? No budget for better makeup? We're watching shows on 4K UHD TVs nowadays! Lines, cracks, creases, and fissures on actors' faces explode on the screen!
The premiere was cliched but I will probably DVR it and binge watch it at the end of its season.
The shows I really like right now is "Good Behavior" on TBS and "This Is Us" on NBC.
Maybe Lee Daniels should watch THOSE shows to see how better casting and writing is accomplished.
My girl Queen made the show. The 3 main characters are not good actresses. If they turn the focus to Queen I think they will be good. If they keep it the way it is I only see one season.
I just want to know has the show healed the racism in the world yet since Lee Daniels said he created to heal the nation, oh please.

@vd: After I saw the trailer, I decided not to even waste my time watching the show. There is nothing appealing about the cast or storyline. Empire beats this show ANY day!

The first episode of Empire hooked you. Star was just blah.
Wanna know what the best scene for Star was? That fake scene between Lucious and Lenny Kravitz.
I didn't bother catching it. I initially thought that Star's character was mixed-race, which I think would've lent to a stronger storyline. This looks lame. ๎
