question re: Lindsey and Paul (spoiler if you didn't see the finale)

I only started watching this show about 6-7 episodes ago (on demand doesn't go back further). I wanted to know why Lindsey look like she realized she made a mistake about getting back with Paul after she saw his motorcycle? Did this refer to something earlier in the series? thank you.

I noticed that too. I think Lindsey is in over her head in the predicament she has made for herself. I do have my own theory. I think Vernon is the father of Lindsey's baby. I think that night in Vernon's mancave went further than the show let us know about. That is why she is trying to be so nice to Becca. That is why she didn't want Paul to know. Paul even said that the way she said she conceived was medically impossible and is willing to believe that his pre-jac was so potent that that must be the answer. And that time that Vernon asked her not to tell Becca that he squeezed her boob and gave her money on top of that too, I just think more went on between them than boob squeezing.

Besides I think if Lindsey really thought that Paul was the baby daddy, she would be more than willing to let Paul know that in no uncertain terms, not to mention her nemesis Amy. Not to get Paul back necessarily, but to just stick it to Amy.

But I think Lindsey doesn't have a lot of options in her mind. She preggers, single, hopelessly useless, so Paul is better than nothing I guess.

I think that Edgar is going to be the father of Lindsey's baby.

I binged the whole series (so far) this weekend, and I don't think it was a call-back to a specific thing. More, their relationship as a whole. Paul's full of little enthusiasms and fascinations that bore Lindsay to tears, and this is just another one.

He's such a good, kind man, but they have nothing in common. There's a reason she was so unhappy being married to him.

Still, it was hard to lose him too, because she does really care for him and think well of him. So she wanted him back anyway for quite some time, and now she's got him - right when she realized it was just as well they'd split up anyway. But he's being so terribly gallant, and she thinks maybe she does rather want the baby, so...

No wonder she's having mixed feelings!

In season one, when Edgar says to Lindsey "I think we're sidekicks" she goes on a rant about how she isn't a sidekick including (paraphrasing) "if I'm on a motorcycle, I'm driving the motorcycle. Not riding around in one those *beep* side motorcycles for poor people and dogs!"

I think it's an allusion to Lindsey's role within her and Paul's marriage. She was really unhappy with Paul, and she kind of ~rode along with his idea of marriage- hanging out with his business colleagues and living a suburban lifestyle she didn't really want. And beyond that, Paul's delight over his motorcycle and thinking Lindsey would share in his enjoyment and be happy in the sidecar reinforces for Lindsey that they have nothing in common and that she hates most of his hobbies (in S1 when she spent the day with Paul to try and learn about what he does with his time, you could tell all of his interests were boring to her).

Good heavens, I managed to completely forget that motorcycle line in the sidekick conversation. It comes back now. Excellent recall, pig pal!

I stand corrected, it's a very specific call-back, in addition to the general overall stuff between them.

Well played by the show, there.

thank you, I'm hoping to watch earlier episodes and will look out for this.

The entire sidekick scene is hilarious. It's one of my all time favourite Lindsey moments.

I think the baby is Paul's simply because they followed her "emancipation" scene with her throwing up.
