I thought this movie was really good, but if felt that Tom Hanks spoke a tad too slow. It turned Mr. Rogers from a slow, deliberate speaker to someone dealing with cognitive issues.

I’m not very familiar with Mr. Rogers - I had never heard of him until that documentary came out a couple of years ago - so I am not qualified to judge the accuracy of his portrayal. but I thought Hanks was the saving grace of this rather dreary film. Mr Rogers’ show, based on what I have now seen, seems like something that would have bored me to tears as a kid, but Hanks’ easy charm helps keep this thing just about watchable.

I thought the same thing until I watched clips of the real Mr. Rogers on YouTube. I think Hanks got it right.
