I'm from the UK and we never heard of Mr. Rogers
Is this worth seeing at the cinema?
Well, when you think about it that's all the more reason to give it a watch. 👍
shareI don't think the movie is worth watching if you didn't watch Mr. Rogers as a kid. The movie did not do well outside of the United States.
shareI'm in Australia and loved it. Though I didn't grow up knowing of Mr Rogers directly (it was not aired in Australia), I was aware of his existence due to the impact that he had on American society and references to him I had seen over the years, beginning with Eddie Murphy's SNL version of his ghetto neighborhood.
OK I guess I retract my statement then, and thanks for your reply! Those of us who grew up watching the show certainly got more out of the movie, but I guess there's no reason the movie on it's own can't still be entertaining.
shareyou're welcome.
I think the theme of a loving person fixing a broken person transcends the character of Mr Rogers himself, and is the core of this movie.
