A damning indictment of theocracy

This film is a brutal look at life in modern day Iran. The lead character Iman, is not a bad man,but a faithful servant to a system that oppresses the people and stifles dissent. Women especially are subject to strict control. However, the younger generation, in this case, Iman's daughters are not willing to toe the line. Rebellion is everywhere. What happens when it enters your own home? The director had to flee Iran to complete this film as the regime was far from happy. It is well acted, with great performances from the actresses who played his wife and two daughters.
