So why are they being hunted??
Did I miss something? What did these people do that they have actual hitmen blowing up houses and chasing people for hundreds of miles?

shareI just made a post about this as I didn't see anyone mentioning why the bad guys were after them. I've just deleted it to add to yours. :-)
Yea the film never revealed what evidence the dad had on the main bad guy? We watched a whole 100 minutes to never getting an answer? Wonder why they never revealed this? I thought the film was not the best. I really love action thrillers, but this one didn't hit the mark. The acting from the two bad guys (Holt and Littlefinger) were a little off. I loved the scenery and cinematography, but this could have been a really good film if it had a better script and conclusion. *****SPOILER****Also, did Jon Bernthal die? Such a strange film.
Just looked up the Director and I am shocked to see that he wrote Sicario 1&2 (both AWESOME films) and wrote and Directed 'Wind River' which was an exceptional and outstanding film (script, score, acting). Wow.
Bernthal died.
shareThe film never states what specifically the father had. It was just a "macguffin," which is basically an insignificant item which sets the story in motion.
shareI break the movie down from beginning to end in this video. This includes why Owen and his son Connor are being hunted to begin with.
Hope this helps, KK and Beyond

It doesn't matter. It's just the MacGuffin for a lot of random action sequences.
