Stupid, laughable movie

What a corny, sappy movie this is. It was a ridiculous prison film, filled with melodramatics and weak characters who would be eaten alive in a real prison. If anyone is interested in seeing how this genre should be done, watch something like "Dog Pound" from 2010. It's rough, and gritty, and loses all the sentimental garbage that puts "Rise" on the 'tv movie of the week' level..

Thanks for the recommendations; I have seen "Starred Up," I don't remember liking it so much, and i haven't seen "Felon" yet but definitely gonna look for it. If you want to see a truly incredible youth prison film, check out the Norwegian film "King of Devil's Island." This film is a masterpiece, one of the best movies dealing with this subject. You will not be disappointed.

I recorded it based on it's synopsis, but from the get-go, could not make hide nor hair of any part of it, including the original court case proceedings.

Looked to me like one of those movies or TV series which seem to have been written as some kind of video game by 12YO gamers.
I abandoned it half-way and deleted it from DVR..unfortunate that a movie supposedly based on the writer's own true experience, comes out as incoherent gibberish..the 5.4 rating is generous.
what happened to the Australian film industry?

No wonder Hacksaw Ridge was the only movie in the AFTA awards that anyone had ever bought a ticket to ...

"Locked Up Abroad" has them all beat.

Geez I wish I had listened to your comment. I just watched this piece of crap because some others said it was good. 1 of the worst films I've watched. It's like the local church decided to make a movie with a $500 budget.
