this is a racist show because it didn't hire any asian american actors
update: because this board's admin is a total racist, that is why s/he constantly delete my anti-racist heroic post. therefore, i can't write replies to anyone.
second, just because one of the actor was half asian, he is still caucASIAN, because he doesn't look like asian. that doesn't prove that this show is not racist. obama's mother is totally caucASIAN, but no one called obama a white man.
at last, did he get hired because he doesn't look asian, or did he get hired because he looks asian? obviously the first answer is the reason. otherwise, they could have hired a total asian american actor instead of a half asian.
this is a racist show because it didn't have any asian in it.
-------
simple as that. in 2016, blacks boycotted oscar because it didn't have any black nominations even though plenty of blacks were hired to act in all tv shows and films.
how would black people react if this show didn't hire any black actors? would they call this a racist show, of course.
Yet once again, the leading role is a black female, just like the tv show - suits. I personally think that black lawyers and doctors are over represented on tv, because there are actually far more asian lawyers and doctors working in real life.
Now these days, when hollywood considers "diversity", they immediately think about hiring black actors.
when was the last time an asian person was hired to play a leading role? When was the last time, an asian female was hired to play a leader in any tv shows of films? tv shows and films now have black president of usa, but when will there be an asian president of the usa?
and when was the last time an asian person won an emmy or an oscar? if we don't fight against racial discrimination, no asians will ever win an award!
and if i don't post it now, i am sure that no matter how long this show will go on, they will never hire an asian actor, especially asian male actors.
i saw the pilot and checked the actors' list, i don't see any asian faces in it. tell me the names of the asian law students or lawyers that appeared in this show?
last time before my original message got deleted, someone told me that a judge was "chinese". that is already wrong to say, because for some people if you have an asian face, you must be "chinese". to them, chinese = asian.
just like the tv show "suits", there was no asian law students or lawyers. in real life, plenty of asians go to law schools and become lawyers. as a matter of fact, there are more asian lawy students than black law students, just like there are more asian medical students than black medical students.
now these days, hollywood only seems to hire two kinds of people, whites and blacks. (some hispanics look too white or actually are white descendant, so i can't tell just by looking.) to the producers and directors, diversity means hiring a black actor.
for all the racist pigs who plan to flag this, just read what other posts, your action help me to expand my message even further every time!
it is the same logic that this show is racist because it didn't hire any asian american actors. that one single half asian actor doesn't really count, he was hired because he didn't look like an asian!
also, in reality, there are more asian law students and lawyers than blacks, just like there are far more asian medical students and doctors in real life, almost all the time, blacks are over-represented in those two careers in tv shows and films. this is simply racist. they don't reflect the reality.
asians need more positive roles in hollywood, it is time to end discrimination against asian american actors now! asians have been living in the usa since the 1800's, if not earlier. we see so few tv shows and films about asians.
