THE BEST SLASHER MOVIE AND HORROR FILM SINCE THE '80S

lumberjack man: i just watched this utterly and neverendingly brilliant, charming, unique, and genius slasher film from 2015. what makes this film the best slasher film since the '80s is the intricate and detail oriented care that went into making this look and feel exactly like a slasher film from the '80s(the best decade for slasher films). the other thing that makes this the best slasher film since the '80s is the humor, the story, which is so wildly original, the villain(the way he looks, moves, acts, his personality and attitude, the way he throws both weapons out the window casually and humorously in the end fight scene).

and also the streamlined, always rapid movement from one scene to the next which are always so entertaining and fun. also the funny, interesting, unique, new, but somehow also old '80s characters lovingly created and portrayed by the actors and the writer and director. not the usual stale, generic characters we usually see in slasher movies nowadays(from '00s to now). the characters are total and complete archtype characters who feel so intimately like characters we loved and rooted for in '80s slasher films like the friday the 13th films. the writer really made the characters feel authentically like characters from the friday the 13th films in such a personal and intimate way that you just sit back and smile constantly while watching this film.

another thing is the surprising, believable concrete pancake used to kill and also be under a person who gets killed. it works so well with the greatly created and expounded upon and totally believable backstory of the villain. everytime someone gets killed and falls on this stand you always believe that this stand is a magical, ethos item which is cool and you buy it in it working as a part of the story and as a part of this movie even before you hear about the villain's backstory. another thing which is essential when it comes to making this the best slasher film since the '80s is the balls to the wall, they are going to do whatever they want and they are not holding back at all way they made the nudity scenes and the kill scenes. there is a perfectly executed way they made the nudity scenes which reminded me in the best way i've ever experienced '80s slasher movies. they gave me the same feeling i got when watching a naughty, voyeuristic, forbidden, sinful nudity scene in an '80s slasher film.

and it's not just that they made the nudity scenes in a i don't care if you are offended by this way, it's the feels and atmospheres used in these scenes which was essential and of paramount importance in making these scenes harken you back delightfully to films like friday the 13th the final chapter and sleepaway camp 2: unhappy campers. but also this whole film feels and original and of it's own completely as well. it's a new spin on old themes done as a tribute to '80s slasher classics and a new take on them with original ideas and characters. and the body count!!!??? i cannot believe how many people get killed in this movie by the villain. it's astounding. i mean the whole camp basically gets killed. the pacing in which they get killed is perfectly handled also. it comes out to about a kill every 10 minutes, which is the best kill/time ratio in a slasher film.

also, and this is so important: the ways in which people are killed is so amazingly original. i've been watching slasher films for about 30 years now. i've seen most of the best ones. from friday the 13th to a nightmare on elm street, to black christmas, to tourist trap, to the redeemer: son of satan and for this film to have mostly original and refreshing kills in it is almost unbelievable at this point in slasher movie history.

also, and this needs to be said, the nasty and full on, not holding anything back kills and the dirty, grimy, and sleazy nudity scenes are so dirty and sinful and voyeuristic feeling that they bring you back in the most natural, intuitive, astute, precise, and authentic way to an '80s slasher film, in the two most important elements in those films.

also, they got everything right in this film. they perfectly executed everything and they made the most authentic '80s slasher film made after the '80s that has ever been made.

the thing i've noticed in recent times(since the '00s to now)slasher movies is they never really stand out and are usually quite bland and generic because they are cheaply made and the filmmakers don't put in much effort to make them truly stand out in the field of thousands of slasher movies. this film is remarkable in how original it is in every way but also how loyal and '80s slasher movie fan loving and appreciative it is.

this film doesn't invent the wheel when it comes to slasher films(but no film can because everything has already been done in slasher films)but it feels like it does because it has so many original, creative, and clever ideas in the slasher film framework to make it seem like the first slasher film ever made.
