Season 2 was a disappointment

I really liked season 1, the mystery behind Carter's abduction and David's role in it, the relashionship between her, Lorie and Elizabeth, it was an exciting discovery.

This season however, I thought the whole thing was ruined straight from episode 1 with this story that Lori is an egg donor, which is in total contradiction with S1. Now we've got this new brother that comes out of nowhere to add some cheap drama. And we've had plenty of cheap drama this season: Bird's parents FBI trouble was completely useless, as was Gabe's little affair with the school woman, Taylor's pill popping problem was evacuated very quickly after Ofe's disappearance. Grant's therapy didn't really go anywhere, Crash got out of jail way too easily and Carter sleeping with Max was grotesque.

Now what ? We have a new guy who's apparently the result of Lori's affair with David, which begs the question, why did Lori kidnap Carter in the first place if she had a kid of her own ? And I was shocked by the visible detachment of Gabe when it comes to his father's death. You lost your only parent left and you spend your day playing video games with your friends, and shooting video games on top of that, given how your father was killed ?

Yeah it really has slipped into the cheap drama/melodrama territory. It's honestly cringe-worthy and as bad as a daytime soap opera. They barely start or finish storylines properly, let alone flesh them out.

I can't believe Birds parents are suddenly showing back up like everything's fine and dandy. Too many illogical and unrealistic plotholes throughout. I know you can't be 100% realistic, but it just pushes the audiences acceptance way too far to be normal or rational.

I thought season 1 was great but I haven't liked season 2 at all. After this mid season finale I'm officially done with the show. It's just gotten terrible imo.

You've read my mind. Kathryn Prescott and M. Govich are the only two actors on this show capable of showing genuine emotional response. Gabe, Crash and recently Madison act like aliens body-snatched their bodies.

Not to mention the whole trial storyline and how unbelieveable it is...

I use to like Gabe but now he's just as irritating as all the other characters that I don't like, save Grant. Why was he such a dick to Liz when she brought him his dad's stuff, which she didn't even have to do. He knew his dad was carrying on with a married woman WITH kids, but he was acting like a teenager just like his son. I know Liz wouldn't leave David for Kyle, I mean that was obvious especially given she has 3 kids, whom he's all friends with. How did he think that would work out exactly? He's been a drama queen anyway and I was hoping he would've found his dad's gun and used it on himself, horrible I know. I was hoping Liz would've gone off on him for that.
