Forgotten threads: in episode 1.1 David owed his publisher $500,000

Several threads from season one have been forgotten. In particular, David's agent was very pushy about the advance David owed back to his publisher. He had got this (huge) advance, and had then been unable to deliver his next book. A deadline had passed where, if he didn't deliver the book he would have to pay back his advance.

Apparently David hadn't informed Elizabeth that he was about to have the family to sell that lovely home.

His agent was very excited about David and Elizabeth reclaiming their lost daughter, as it would mean David could repeat the success of his first book, Losing Lyndon, with Finding Carter.

Now that he has decided to be a college instructor, not an author, why aren't we hearing about that $500,000 debt?

Yeah they've failed on remembering plot points started in Season 1. I know they changed showrunners - which was silly because the new direction in Season 2 seems like it will be the downfall of the show, coupled with all the inconsistencies and melodrama. They would have been better sticking with the original showrunner and those original elements weaved in.

I believe there was a time in S1 where David and Elizabeth talked about being young pregnant and getting married - making it seem like they were accidentally pregnant together in College or something which prompted them to marry, and that pregnancy was supposedly Carter and Taylor.

So yeah, it's frustrating that all of a sudden their money problems are over, and acting like everythings fine and dandy.
