Question about Grant????

Somehow I must have missed how Grant came about??? If Elizabeth needed a donor egg to have Carter and Taylor how did she have Grant? Was Grant conceived with a different donor? Naturally and is Elizabeth and David's child? How did I miss this important detail? Thanks ahead of time.

They have missed this detail, they never did explain if he was an egg-donor baby, or if he was just a complete surprise or what. One can only assume he was a legit surprise pregnancy to Elizabeth?

reply

One episode back in season 1 said that Grant was born 12 weeks early, I think. Point is he was premature meaning Elizabeth naturally conceived but could hold on for a full term.

reply

Sometimes people have problems conceiving so they go a different route only to end up conceiving at a later time.

Thanks everyone ?

Lol it was supposed to say, "Thanks everyone (and then a smiley face emoji... But it is a question mark!? Lol)

People who thought they had fertility problems can and do become pregnant, after they adopt a baby. It happened to the mother of a friend of mine.

How? Why? IIRC the speculation is that when the infertile lady starts intensely mothering and bonding with the new child, all that love and nurturing the baby triggers, in turn triggers some subtle change in her lady hormones, making her fertile again.

As to whether Grant was an accident -- he said he was the replacement child, conceived shortly after Lyndon's disappearance. I'd say this implies he was planned, not an accident.

Consistency is not this show's strong suit. I don't remember in which episode but in season 1 David once mentioned that Elizabeth and he got married because she got pregnant.

Grant's birth was also not elaborated, while I have seen that to be a recurring question on this board.
