Stinker? You mean low numbers? Vinyl is an excellent show. If you judge something's quality by number of fans, you must love you some Bieber.

It's far from an excellent show. More like overblown mess and a vanity project for all involved

I can state my opinion too. Here goes. It's a gritty representation of rock and the industry in the 70s including the drugs and mafia influence. I think it's pretty funny, exciting, tragic, and a good representation of a trainwreck CEO and husband.
