Why then did Kruschev, Brezhnev, Podgorny, Kirilenko, Saburov, Ignatyev, and Semichastny become the leadership of the USSR?

Dude seriously? you don't know? he was a mass murderer and on top of that he was very dumb he killed over 9 billion (including other galaxies) people. He let these guys live to teach a lesson :P
