In an era where 1st graders are arrested and placed in handcuffs for drawing pictures of guns a high school senior can fracture a student's skull and expulsion is the worst consequence.

I believe he was expelled for trying to slap the vice principal.

She tried to slap him. He didn't try to slap her. Unless you're talking about the scene where he shoved her away while beating on the bully.
