I think her acting days are over.....She can't get a decent role if her life depended on it.

Jennifur acts the same in ALL her movies. If she was that good, she would be offered better films. Jennifur produced this garbage to feed her ego. It had no credibility. A young hot man would not be interested in a 40+ woman in a wig with a ratty teenage kid. She was not sexy at all in this film. 10 years ago she could have pulled off this film, but not now.

Yes, on another thread I figured so much. But since it wasn't the same actress, but a body double used, I just assumed it was someone else. I mean more than one blond in the same school in southern California? How unusual. LOL

Not wrong! She has never been nominated for an actress. The Academy ignored her 'performance' in Enough. They laughed at "the Cell". This new movie has gone straight to DVD in many countries. I don't mind her music, that is what she does best. Leave it at that Jenni-fur.
shareShe's a very good actress. Roger Ebert cited her as a favourite. But saying the Academy "ignored" Enough and laughed at The Cell is hardly astute. Especially when Lopez is an Academy member herself. But Enough wasn't very good and The Cell was brilliant and genuinely innovative and influential. That's the difference. But for someone who is assumed to be not getting good roles, she just had a film officially selected at Sundance, has a major tv series coming this year and has Universal wanting her for new movies. But don't let the facts spoil your disdain.

shareI agree with every word here. Even when she's stuck with an awful screenplay, you can still tell she's natural at diving into a character. The Boy Next Door is a bit frustrating, for sure - but it's still got camp charms to it, and that wouldn't have been the case if Lopez hadn't been so committed. I just wish she went back to the days of the 1990s before she hit big with rom-coms in the early 2000s. I mean, she was only nominated for an ISA, a Golden Globe, and was an Oscar contender for Out of Sight.

Has nobody seen Selena? I mean, the girl looked like her, acted like her, danced like her. Moved like her. I mean, she WAS Selena. Her fans and family and friends said so. Just because you don't like some of her movies doesn't mean you can go around bashing her. And honestly, if I were a dude about Noah's age, the FIRST thing I'd try to do is get in her pants. Woman is beautiful. Let's be real here. Ryan Guzman wasn't helping either. I mean, most of his performance was forced.

Jennifer Lopez is not a bad actress, in fact she's shown some real talent on many occasions. Maybe one day she'll get a better role, because awful movies like The Boy Next Door are not doing her any favors.

She's calling her Jennifur because she is one of the biggest fur hag celebrities out today. No concern for the brutal torture those beautiful animals went through so she can have a stupid coat to make her feel glamorous and rich. I hate this ugly btch. I hope everything she does fails.

The movie wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. Everyone's acting was kind of lame, except the boy who was playing her son, I thought he was very good given the crappy dialogue he had to work with. John Corbett was absolutely horrible in this... it's as if he wasn't even acting, but reading his lines without emotion or drive... if we're going to talk about horrible acting in this movie the award MUST go to John Corbett. Jennifer was actually pretty decent.

I've never liked her music and I don't care about her celebrity status, but I've never had a problem with her as an actress. She's not amazing or anything but she's been at least decent in everything I've seen her in. Essentially you're right, though. The Boy Next Door is no Out of Sight, or even Selena. Fun trash, though!
