Paul is such a pathetic damsel
All he is good for is expressing fear and preparing breakfast. He can't even leave the cabin without dropping stuff.
Reversed stereotypes are just as annoying when there is no place for subtlety.

A damsel would be like "See yah, creep!" and would run away. The movie was made by a damsel: Paul is the creepy rat
shareHe's a man in a film.
He isn't allowed to be confident or smart or empowered.
He isn't allowed to stand up for himself against a woman or have a survival instinct.
Those are qualities only women are allowed to have because they represent the real world
Apparently
But you notice how people who would call this film sexist if they had a female character like Paul ate the first to defend the murdering wife amd blame the male victim.
While gender stereotypes in media do not represent either sex in any way they do tell us a lot about how society views the genders and how they happily force a stereotype on one gender but fought to remove them from the other, this enforcing equally derogatory new ones in them that the brainless sheep have been convinced are 'empowering'
