something from outer-space(?) infects her kootchie and trying to take over makes them act weird but insist they know who they are - seems to affect wives who eventually get rid of their husband then realize they are no longer lonely

shareIt's not shown but it's severely hinted that Bea was sexually assaulted by some unknown force in the woods. Her husband thinks that's what happened and her sudden rejection from sexual encounter also hints toward it. Later Bea tries to perform an abortion on herself and when her husband finds her and confronts her she begs him to get it out of her and he pulls something out her her womb that seems like an umbilical-chord like creature, Bea tells him that in the woods she was caught by shadow like creatures which went inside her, so I imagine they were impregnating her and the other girl with some sort of creature in order to create some hybrid
In the end we Sea Bea and the other girl looking inhuman and going back into the woods when the weird lights call them again, the creatures are there waiting for them in order to repeat the process.
My guess: She was being controlled by a feminist.
You forgot to mention that Bea killed Paul towards the end. Threw him in the lake with a weight tied to him. She said she was doing it because she was trying to 'save' him, and just 'hide' him under the water.
They had previously found evidence suggesting that the other girl had killed her husband too.
I found it an interesting film. Not great, but not as bad as the haters are saying. I will admit that the main reason I kept watching was because the guy is very cute. (And my str8 friends tell me the two girls are too).
