Why didnt they just leave?

I am currently 2/3 of the way through the movie. They are both clearly not having a good time and some crazy *beep* is going down.

Why did neither of them bring up simply leaving? Perhaps drive to the nearest city and get a hotel room and vacation there for a few days?

Lets just stay at this house thats completely isolated, where my wife potentially got raped and something is shining a light through the windows all night.

LOL literally as I unpaused it the guy said he wanted to leave.

This like many horrors films begs the question "why don't they just...."

Horror films require stupidity for it to be horror. He could have walked somewhere and got a taxi but the story would have ended there.
