FINALLY it gets a theatrical release date.

A movie that was made in 2016. We FINALLY get a release date of Jan 5th 2018.

I looked forward to this because of what I feel are the amazing talents of Jacob Tremblay.
From that aspect it doesnt disappoint. YES I have seen it already and it is no too difficult to find online.
I think it is a somewhat difficult movie to market. It has the horror/scifi aspect.
Unfortunately it lacks a "coherent" ending and leaves us with uneasy, und unanswered questions, that (in MY opinion) dont follow the concept of the story line very well.
This doesn't erase all that I otherwise like about the movie, but I feel it kind of lets down the viewer with a less than satisfying resolution to sum up the movie.

Jacob actually made this movie right after the movie. ROOM
In ROOM he just SHINES in his performance. In Before I wake, he clearly steals our hearts again but in a different way. He clearly has talent. There is just a lovable character that he has that works well for this movie. The rest of the acting is "solid" but the characters seem to be in confusing situations at times and that comes to a head at the end.

There are discussions about the "emasculating" of the main male character. I dont totally disagree with the statements. HOWEVER, I did not let it stop me from enjoying many of the other positive aspects of the movie.
It would be interesting to know if there are any "alternate endings" and why they chose the ending they did.
