Remake of Fish Tank?

Fish Tank is a really beautiful film. This is a US remake I guess? Is it even close in quality?

I can see the comparison you're making, but, no, not a remake at all. This one is adapted from a book, while Fish Tank was an original. And they differ quite a lot in terms of ton.

Since the Phoebe Glaukner's graphic novel has been kicking around for about fifteen years now, it's possible "Fish Tank" was inspired by THIS, but I think they're really just different projects. "Fish Tank" is a very good movie too though.

Fish Tank is great, its' complexities really stuck with me for sometime. I didn't watch it until it was mentioned here. By comparison, DOATG is just a bland story about a neglected, expressionless girl.

I did NOT like this movie, so I thought: "Does that make me a prude?"

Well, no. I loved "Fish Tank" from beginning to end.

This movie is just boring, and her "revelation" is actually quite simplistic and stupid. You could read it off of a Starbucks inspirational mug. Seriously.

I have finally watched fish tank today.

I live in the USA and when I heard the language and the way they treated each other really shocked me. They never had a nice word for each other. The C word is not something women call each other here unless they really hate them.

Both mothers were jerks. But have to say the mother in fish tank was worse.

The girl in fish tank I really don’t see any future for her. Diary of a teenage girl I could see her having a future.

Both families were into drugs or drinking. Fish tank they were very heavy drinkers.

Fish tank the day after they had sex the guy left and she could not let go. She broke into his house and peed on his carpet. Least the other girl was not vindictive

I want to buy the book and movie diary of a teenage girl and fish tank seeing it once was enough
