Hiya, Just as the title says I watched a (possible) french film with a similar plot in the early 2000's. Coming of age story with a french girl who sleeps with her mothers partner. I can not remember the film title so I'm hoping anyone remembers this movie. I believe this film also took place in the 70's.

That was a good movie as well.
I saw that movie and found it interesting. I thought the girl was more wilder but due to the cultural differences I could not identify with it as I did with diary of a teenage girl.

shareThere are A LOT of French movies with a similar plot. You'd think from their movies that the majority of teen girls in France lose their virginity to middle-age men--a mother's boyfriend or, even more common, a friend's father.
It could also be "36 Fillete", "Year of the Medusas", or "Girls Can't Swim". "Beau Pere" is a possibility, but that is more about a widower who becomes sexually involved with his late girlfriend's young daughter. It's not a coming-of-age movie since it's told from the male perspective (and was made in 1981).

Hey thanks everyone for your replies, I appreciate it; Unfortunately the films you have suggested aren't it. @Lazarillo I agree about the french coming of age stories bit, These movies make it seem as if sleeping with your father figure is a common occurrence among french teenage girls.
I can tell finding this film is going to be a sage comparable to looking for "Running Scared". I have the plot in my head and can type it out in a million different ways but nothing will come up for years.
Has anyone seen the movie The Dreamers. If you enjoy movies with these sort of plots, you may enjoy that if you haven't already seen it. :)
