The F word

Just wondering if anyone knows why the cuss words were censored on the first season but the second season isn't.

reply

I know I don't remember seeing the TV-MA rating on season one,but season two definitely has that warning.

They give the Mature Audience warning in the second season but the cursing in general is amped up and changes the tone of the show, unfortunately. I'm not against cursing in general but it did change the tone of this series.

I didn't really notice that it was different, but I did notice that Kevin swore his face off when he was telling off Camomile and the cultists and quitting Camomile's show. AND I LOVED IT. I thought it really worked that he would be very profane in that cathartic moment.

So if there was a change in what was allowed, I approve of that change!

It makes a show feel more realistic honestly, cause have you gone a day without hearing the f-word a zillion times.
It really depends where you are. In Boston, I sometimes heard people using it more or less as punctuation. In Santa Fe, I almost never hear it from anyone.

I think Deadbeat is set in NYC? So yeah, there'd be plenty of people saying it there all the time!

Is cursing more real than not cursing? Is heroin use more real than not shooting up? Is rape more real than not raping? I curse, you curse, but I don't curse in front of children and I know cursing isn't the best or classiest word choice. Diarrhea is real too but I'm not going to pay to see it.

Let the pretentious defense of cursing begin because Art and Turd Midasing, where everything you touch turns to excrement just because.

People on TV/in film get shot in the head with their brains splattering everywhere, like, ALL the time. If I counted the number of times I've seen that in real life I could use zero hands. I've heard the word "*beep*" today at least ten times. Real life isn't classy. In real life, people aren't at their best.

The main characters in this show are kind of terrible people, and one would most certainly expect their language to reflect that.
