Started out good, got better and better throughout season 2 IMO -- fantastic show.

But I kept wondering: Is there a particular reason for James McAvoy being a running gag? Is there something behind the scenes I don't know about, or is it just random? It's funny anyway. I was half expecting him to pop up as a guest by now, suppose that still might happen (unless the reason they keep using his name all over the place is that he turned it down, or someone behind the show has a genuine reason not to like him...).

Can't wait for season 3, anyways. Everyone should know about this show, sadly very few seem to have heard about it.

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.

It's been a while... I don't remember James McAvoy being a thing. I totally believe you that he is! It's just gone from my head. So, I don't know why either!

Weird that this show isn't bigger, right? Tyler Labine, you'd think might have a certain draw by this point in his career, plus it's funny as hell. But at least it gets watched enough to keep going!

Yeah, I just discovered it and binged both seasons, perhaps that's why I noticed the McAvoy thing. :D

Counted at least seven different episodes where he's mentioned, and in a couple he's sort of a plot thing even -- they're waiting for a celebrity guest, and he's the one every time, canceling or in one case being in an accident (and it get's clear that he "pulled through" at the last minute...) Sounds kinda like someone there knows him.  First time I saw it I thought the show clearly isn't big enough for him to come on as an actual guest, but then James Franco, Danny DeVito, Fred Armisen and others showed up, so who knows.

I don't know, but I hope he eventually makes a guest appearance. I find it funny too.

I notice it too, they use him as the go to reference for anything celebrity. I've been trying to figure out, my best guess is that he was supposed to do a cameo or guest star and pulled out and it's more of an inside joke amongst them.
