The sexual assault in the first episode was inappropriate

I know this is some kind of backwater derived show and they have to do everything they can to desperately drag people to watch it, but that scene was completely offensive.

If you think that it was ok, what would of happened if we had swapped the characters around and had the guy do that to the woman ? Still think it would of been ok ?

I'm afraid that scene put me off watching anymore of the series. Apparently from what others have said he doesnt even get his own back later on in the series either so it just seems like anti-male crap and an attempt to make light of sexual violence against men.

Heres hoping it gets shut down after this next season.

I really do understand what you are saying and agree that female to male violence should not be brushed off lightly, in real life.

This however was just to emphasize the characterization of both.

It is a great show. Give it a chance, it will probably make you smile :D

reply

Also men and women are not the same, they have many differences and always will.
Simpletons like you who can't understand complex behavioral dynamics try to distract from their obvious lack of intellect by making stupid oversimplified comparisons.

You think sexual assault is "complex behavioural dynamics" its pretty clear you are the simpleton here.

Do what to what now? Where is the sexual assault? Everyone involved was a consenting adult. Or ghost. If anything we could say it was prostitution, as Kevin is paid for the use of his body.

reply

I thought the OP was talking about Camomile assaulting (and battering) Kevin's sex organs.

Which bothered me, too. I mean, she just gets away with this? A person could go to prison for that kind of violence - and should. She's not fit to be in society.

"You are NOT the boss of me... SHE is."

reply

that would make sense - I thought that was a later episode.

You know....you can just NOT watch it, right? If you aren't intelligent enough to "change the channel" then I certainly don't think you are intelligent enough to decide what I should be watching.

btw, it's coming back for a 3rd season. 

Well, it gets worse in episode 12 when this hooker is murdered by his new rich friend and he's fine with covering it up.

reply

'Anti male crap'.

Oh shut up shut up shut up. Guys like you looove to whine about 'feminism' but you know what? I never see people pathetically crying about sexism towards women in everything they see. No, Reddit and IMDB are both full of sad losers who want to see 'male oppression' in everything. And you know what, yeah, I think violence against anyone is wrong, but you should consider sacking the hell up instead of crying about your gender being oppressed (even though it really isn't compared to the female gender).

reply

The user that's the OP seems to have a whole history of posts questioning feminism and why we don't look down upon sexual offenses by women towards men in the same way we do when it is the common other way around, and he seems to be already coming to the conclusion about how bad feminism is and gives MRAs a lot of credit.

But he is not fighting to get anyone any justice either.

reply

I actually believe I HAVE the answers to some of the questions he is asking, and I can try and make a satisfying one WITHOUT constant references to feminism, let alone MRAs, law, society and social conditioning, but I have zero guarantee whatsoever that he'll agree or even understand, it's an interesting but very controversial question.

Not to mention the fact that exagerrated, unrealistic or NOT - nothing that ever happens in movies and TV series as such like that is real.
