if they've had thing stolen or property damaged. I'm guessing this movie will be 100% politically correct and paint Americans who want a secure border as racists
The logline basically calls Americans "racist" for stopping criminals from getting in. I guarantee the filmmakers don't have a clue what Mexico's laws are for legal/illegal immigration.
He was pointing out that Mexico's immigration policies are more strict than the United States, but the Mexican filmmakers are still making a movie designed to demonstrate how inhospitable the US is.
So because there property damage and theft that means you get to hunt people like animals and kill them? You dont think that might be a little bit of an over reaction?
Or, he's ment to just be a nut job. Do you think there are no nut jobs who think like this? Please understand that no matter what you believe, there are extremes of that belief. Take for example Buddhists. You here Buddhist, and you think jolly fat man of peace to the world. Yet, in some parts of the world you'll find Buddhists rampaging killing anything that moves including women and children in the most brutal fashion you can imagine. But they don't represent all Buddhists.
Make no mistake, there are people like this character in the world. Do they represent the majority? Of course not. But I would point you to the other extreme pushed by mr trump. He would have everyone believe that anyone with brown skin is up to no good. Just like the man in this story doesn't represent all of those who want tighter border control, those you speak of that steal and break stuff don't represent all people who cross the border illegally.
Just take the movie for what it is. A scenario played out for entertainment purposes.
I whole heartedly agree with Fellatio_Del_Toro (that's a sentence I thought id never say, hilarous SN btw). The main antagonist is just a crazy INDIVIDUAL. There is no part of the trailer that says "This is how all Americans think about Hispanics." Furthermore, there is a very small, very loud and very confused demographic of Americans who would hapily jump at the opportunity to murder Hispanics trying to cross the border. On the flip side, there are Hispanics who cross the border illegally and do horrible things as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is that all illegal immigrants are not murderraping savages and all Americans are not xenophobic, gun loving, nut jobs. The despicable actions of a few individuals does not give anyone carte blanche to hate an entire culture, whatever color they may be.
I'm not saying there aren't people who would behave like the guy in this movie if given the opportunity; nor am I saying the filmmakers are suggesting all anti-immigration Americans are literally like this lovely fellow.
BUT, you don't make a movie about a white guy in a border state murdering illegal immigrants without pushing a political agenda.
It's clearly been taken to extremes in order to make a splash and get people talking, but the point is that instead of dealing with the nuanced reasons for opposing illegal immigration this film (among many others. Not to mention books, tv shows, etc..) dumbs it down to a black & white (excuse the pun) racial issue.
How about I ask you, otter68, if your parents were siblings, and you being the product of inbreeding, is why you're a bigoted moron? Honest question after all. No one remotely intelligent is going to think like you. The only ones that think like you are Trump supporters who are all stupider than the low-functioning special ed. students in school.
