If the movie was about EVIL ILLEGALS trying to murder a Texan family....

Would the Right-Wingers be just as up in arms about the extremely biased rhetoric at work?

Then it would be a movie about things that actually happen regularly.

What do you think the tolerant and righteous Mexicans do with the illegals that sneak into their country from Central America? And why don't you just move to Mexico to get away from evil whitey Americans and live among the tolerant multicultural Mexicans?

reply

I think that happens on a regular basis about as often as racist Texans on the border decide to shoot up illegal immigrants, not out of self defense, but rather for the sheer pleasure of it. Which is to say that I think both scenarios, while within the realm of possibility, don't happen as often as <insert whichever far right/left wing media you choose to follow> would like to have you believe.

And if I ever moved anywhere, it would be to Canada. I'm very close to the Canadian border, so a move up would be far less of a hassle, not to mention less expensive.

Yeah, I'm sure racist texans hunt Mexicans for bloodsport as often as this - http://www.ojjpac.org/memorial.asp

It never ceases to amuse me that all the tolerant liberals want to move to Canada and never to Mexico. Maybe your reasons are valid but it's still funny that not one ever says "if Donald Trump is elected I'm moving to Mexico" rather than "if Donald Trump is elected I'm moving to Canada". Mostly because given the choice between Mexico and Canada I'd choose... Mexico, it's a much better place to live than Canada if you know what you're doing. Tropical paradise in Cancun, cheaper cost of living, not freezing 9 months a year. But hey I'm not a racist unlike most virtue signaling bleeding hearts.

This isn't a movie about gang violence in LA, it's about people being hunted down in isolation along the Mexican border. So unless you can show me a list that involves Mexicans sneaking across the border with the sole purpose of attacking/murdering Texan families living in remote locations along the border, I hardly see how that translates. Otherwise, if that's the case, then I may as well just use the near genocide of the Native American populace by the European Illegals as a counterpoint.

Also if you think that illegal immigration is the cause of gang violence, you're sadly mistaken.

I think I'd prefer Canada, not only because I live so close, but also because I really think I'd miss the four seasons if I moved to Mexico. There's so much beauty to be had going through the Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter cycle, even if there are days during the hottest/coldest parts of the year that I get sick of it all. Living someplace without a white Christmas or without the changing colors of leaves in the Autumn would be kind of boring and even depressing after a while.
