A1: Sounds can be used to train dogs just like words, scents and hand signals. The obedience comes after a while when the dog associates a certain command with a reward. eg: If you wanted your dog to jump in the air after you do a certain whistle, you could start jumping in the air yourself while whistling that tune. Every time he jumps up you reward your dog with a treat. After a while your dog will associate your whistle to the snacks so will remember to jump. It will get to a point where your dog will obey your whistle command even if you don't reward him every time. It's a lot easier if you train them as pups but older dogs can learn too.
A2: Yes, the one in the movie looked like an Orion type flare gun which is 12 gauge and the flare burns strontium nitrate or potassium nitrate which is very hot. If you hold a regular flare without protective gloves you can get serious burns to your hand.
A3: If a flare gun is fired at close range into your mouth like in this film it would take all your front teeth out and probably lodge in the back of your throat like you saw with the dog, if hit in the throat would probably die from the impact alone. If it hit your body the impact would feel like riot rubber bullet, depending on what you are wearing it might stick to you so you would soon feel it burning.
Remember it is about 12 gauge like a shot gun blast so the impact from a close range hit to the chest could be leathal and cause a heart attack if you're not padded up.
A4:I don't know about America but in the UK you need a licence to own one. It can be used as a weapon but so can Knives and fireworks and which you can buy without a licence.
A5: Dogs seem to have tougher skulls than human, I've seen some play fighting and hitting their heads on the corner of furniture hard enough to knock out a human and it didn't even flinch. like most animals they have thicker skin than humans. Giraffes can eat berries from trees with thick thorns using their tongues.
A6: It can be interpenetrated this way or you could say it saved the migrant's life.
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
