I actually think they were going for a serious movie but I laughed all the way through it.

Are we actually supposed to feel sorry for a group of illegal immigrants whose first act in coming to the US is to become a felon? Sorry, not happening. Maybe come here the right way, you know the legal way, and you won't have to worry about running the gauntlet crossing the border.

And of course they have the cliché of the evil white racist flying his Confederate flag on his truck, you know, because only racists fly those evil Confederate flags.

Utter garbage.

I don't think they were trying to sympathize the immigrants at all. Honestly, both sides were made to look hideous. Sure, the racist had no real motive other than being a "proud" American, but neither did most of the illegal immigrants in this film. The main character did have his son to make him look good, but his actions in the film made him look bad as well. It's not like this film is trying to say that all illegals should be allowed into the country. It's just telling a story of a group of illegals crossing the border and running into a crazy hunter who so happens to be an American. You do know that there's been several cases similar to this film, right? Hunters have actually killed illegals back in the early 2000's, so this film's story isn't entirely unbelievable.
