release date/ film festivals?

In her interview with Jimmy Fallon last week Jennifer Connelly kind of implied that this film may already be completed, but she may have just meant the filming portion went quickly. At any rate this certainly seems like the kind of film that will go to a film festival first before having any kind of theatrical release.
Paul and Jennifer have both been to Toronto Film Festival a number of times. I doubt they'd wait until next year to do Sundance or Berlin with it, for some reason it doesn't strike me as a Cannes type film, but I don't know anything. It feels like it would be a perfect fit for TriBeCa in April assuming they had it done in time, but that would have been a massively quick turn around for post for that to happen.

I think she meant they filmed it pretty quickly. I really hope it debuts at TIFF, its how I got to see Virginia and Stuck in Love before they even had trailers for those movies.

They've started announcing films for TIFF so hopefully we'll hear some news soon. It would be cool if it went there first, (because September isn't that far away, and I might actually be able to go)

It's going to play at the TIFF.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.

Hello, I just got out of the TIFF viewing and I rather enjoyed Shelter. Overall it was a very well done film that analozes a theme (homelessness) that is too frequently avoided in the film industry.

Paul wrote, directed and produced this film and in his introduction you can implicitly tell that it's a very personal project.

I doubt that this film will get wide release, but it is worth seeing.

reply

Yeah I just saw it at TIFF too, and I agree that it seems doubtful it will get any kind of wide release. Though hopefully it gets distributed somehow, as Jennifer's performance was astounding, painful to watch at times, but she deserves some awards.
