As of today, Shelter still does not have a U.S. Distributor just like Jennifer Aniston and Cake does not have a U.S. Distributor. From what I'm reading, it's the subject matter that is a concern for both of these films. A shame since both of these actresses have garnered excellent reviews and are showing award worthy performances.
shareAnd now Cake has garnered Aniston a SAG and GG nom. Lame. Both of those should have gone to Connelly, I don't get why Cake found a distributor but Shelter didn't. Or Shailene Woodley would also have been a better choice than Aniston, she was amazing in the Fault in Our Stars.
shareAniston's reviews have been mixed and the movie itself has gotten very lukewarm reviews. However, Aniston has star power and people pay to see her. Connelly lacks charisma and star power so it will be more difficult for her to sell a movie. I said it before and I will say it again: the producers should have netflixed this movie and she would have been nominated for an Emmy.
Also, Aniston has hired the Weinstein's to help her get promotion for the awards and it is the joke in Hollywood how hard she is trying to get an Oscar nom. Doesn't matter. She won't win crap because Julianne Moore will finely get her due respect!
