Similar in a way to the Canadian film, CUBE (1997)

Similar in a way to the Canadian film, CUBE (1997)

The film follows a group of people led by Quentin, a former cop, as they cross industrialized cube-shaped rooms, some rigged with various traps designed to kill. The people only remembering their name, and not how they got into the puzzle/maze. They try to find a route out - like rats.

It's more about interpersonal dynamics and communication.
- Do you follow a leader?
- Do you join a group to make decisions?
- Do you sacrifice yourself because escape is hopeless?
- Do you try to sabotage others?

There are no right or wrong answers. We see the same personality & character dynamics in horror movies, disaster films, and TV competitions like SURVIVOR.

Yeah, kind of.

I liked Cube better for its more inventivness, but I liked this movie too for its originality. Kinda reminded me one of Saw movies where everyone was carouseling around the shotgun. I think this movie Circle movie could use a sequel with a bigger budget.

Why do you make a point of it being Canadian? It's a popular movie that is no different between that or some other trapped in a room-films from Hollywood. And the director is from the US.

reply

Because no doubt Canadians are proud of The Cube.
