For the record though I'd like to believe I would abstain from voting if not also be vocal about the hypocrisy of it all?especially from the so called Christians in the group
For what it's worth (and I"m an atheist, for what THAT's worth), there was only one clear Christian, i.e., the pastor, and he appeared to abstain from voting until the end.
The commentary track confirms this - he voted for the lesbian without really thinking, and got her killed along with the soldier, cancer-survivor and not-a-porn-star. It ate him up, inside, which is why he stepped off his spot and died.
The other likely candidates might've been the Latina woman he comforted earlier, who also volunteered. It's also likely that the migrant worker was Christian, and he, too, volunteered.
Not that the filmmakers were trying to extol Christianity, but I think they were trying to show exactly how difficult it would be for people who profess Christianity to square their beliefs with their behavior.
