That felt like such an odd thing for the movie. It didn't add anything to the movie for me personally. I actually found him to be annoying too. Was he supposed to be annoying? I think honestly the movie would have been better without it. I enjoyed it,but my god I just wanted to slap the twin brother sooooo badly.
I think he was supposed to be annoying, no one talks the way chase does normally, unless their trying to annoy them, but you could tell Woody Harrelson was having fun with the role. He was only brought in for one reason, to screw over Merritt. And a twin brother was referenced in the first movie. But didn't understand why woody harrelson played a dual role. I thought merritt was going to dress up like chase and get top secret info on walter's plan. that would have added some validity to the role, but no.
it was very odd. was waiting till the end for twin to turn out to be Merritt all along
Dude I was so waiting for this or somehow find out that good Harrelson had somehow switched places with bad Harrelson. This movie was so bad on so many levels. It was also about 20 minutes too long. reply share
The twin brother was NOT necessary! It was indeed very odd to have that in the movie. The should have let another actor play that part. The only reason that I can think of to have a twin is so that in the end we see that Merritt disguised himself as his twin to fool the bad guys. But this was not the case.

Zombieland Natural Born Killers Kingpin basically everything he's ever been in. I agree with the OP that the twin was totally dumb, but "Hey, this movie needs more Woody Harrelson?" Hell, I'd say EVERY movie needs more Woody harrelson!
Just like how you can never have enough Bill Murray in your life.
Within the movie context, it was stupid to have a twin brother. It didn't bring anything to the movie except a small window into Merritt's past, which in itself is useless and unnecessary.
Within the larger context outside the movie, it is always a bad idea to have MORE woody harrelson onscreen in any situation. It would have been better to get rid of Merritt instead of Isla fisher's character.
