The oldest magic shop in the world is in China. They used that in the movie, so it makes sense

shareThe first did well, this did very well for Lionsgate. So much so they are making a Chinese spin off in addition to another sequel.
Sequels often add new characters or exotic new locations so why not make that location the 2nd biggest movie market?
