Wasn't there something going on at the end of the first film between Melanie Laurent and Mark Ruffalo? Was Laurent supposed to come back at all and they just replaced with her with Sanaa Lathan?
If I remember correctly, when they meet at the end of the first film, she confessed she liked him and that was it. Not sure if they actually planned on starting a relationship.
