An interesting thriller overall
I think people are reading too much into the logical chain of events about things and calling a bunch of plot holes and but missing the point that those characters are more complex/twisted than the usual characters.
Example: Caroline's step dad actions were not logical
The move overall had a nice noir touch to it, had some Sin City vibe to it at some points. It had that dark mood to it, similar to A Walk Among the Tombstones. "No good endings" movie adds some depth into the characters and their complexity behind their actions. I personally enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It keeps you guessing who is the good and who is the bad guys in the movie. It leaves you with personal questions in the end and its not a bad thing.
