Thought provoking

So on the face of it, this was a movie set perhaps 50 years in the future, with a nice bit of world-building and a story based around a traditional sci-fi 'what if' idea.

But throughout the movie all I could think of was that it was set in a fabulously advanced and wealthy city in which many people were horrifyingly poor, and this of course drives the main character to make an absolutely dreadful choice for her daughter.

I am far from left-wing in nature, but I have to admit, this movie made me reassess some of my assumptions about our present day world.
