disturbing and compelling
at the same time
sharetotally stunning movie. i have to rewatch it. it would be great to see more books from that series on the silver screen.
shareI didn't realize it was based on a book
sharethen you will most likely love to hear, that it is not only based on a book, but that there is a whole series of books with the same protagonist:

Thank you - wonder why The Treatment wasn't made in English in the UK - so many good crime dramas made in the UK these days
shareIt doesn't pull punches. When you think it can't get any more disturbing, it does... up until the very end.
Throughout the movie, characters are given almost biblical kinds of choices where they have to sacrifice one thing to get something else. Not just the fathers, the main character as well. Like when Plettinckx in his final moments is giving him a choice to find out either more about the current case he's working on, or about the fate of his brother. But especially in the end when he practically seals the fate of his brother because of the choice he made. Thankfully, he doesn't know yet what he did, but one day will find out
when someone finds the body in the trailer
.
