How did "the little troll" David Walsh get Lance Armstrong?

David Walsh is a very good investigative journalist. He is formidable.

How did he get Lance? Why was he so convinced he was lying?

I guess it was that doctor that did Lance in, right? But David Walsh was investigating him before that so he was convinced or at least highly suspicious of Lance.
