What a waste of money!!

Let's make a movie about something everyone pretty much knows anyway, something few care about and something that's probably only going to leave one feeling angry at the end. Save $10, go online and read about it if you want to "reminisce" about something this dumb.

Can't believe garbage ideas like this get greenlit. Let's have more original movies made.

reply

Agreed, this did not need a movie adaption.

They already have two documentaries.

reply

well why make 2 very similar documentaries, go and beat them up. Without an acted film, you can't really show the events we are interested in

reply

Well since its Ben Foster playing Lance Armstrong, I may spend my $10, if I so choose.

It don't matter who you hear it from. It's the same story.

reply

This. I'll pay $10 to see Ben Foster anywhere.

reply

It's all about the acting. Yeah, we all know the story - but Ben Foster is phenomenal. His physicality in this film is the product of incredible preparation - and his acting range gets as much of a workout. He'll never get the recognition of his awards competition this year - Johnny Depp under volumes of make-up, Eddie Redmayne trying to out-queen his Lana Wachowski impersonation from "Jupiter Ascending," etc. - but Foster will only gain more fans from this performance. And "The Program" has a lot of other greats - Chris O'Dowd as good as he's ever been, Jesse Plemons getting better and better, French stars Guillaume Canet and Denis Menochet working well in English (Canet with an Italian accent!), and Lee Pace a standout as a slimy lawyer. The racing scenes look great, too. Too bad this film probably won't get the respect it deserves.

reply

Based on reviews, Plemons and Foster are the only good things about this film. In general, of course. O'Dowd hasn't received praises, only an OK review, Canet has been mocked because of his caricatural performance and his bad Italian accent...this film will be lucky if it doesn't get Razzies nods. But it will have a Winter release, probably to avoid this.

But interesting to see such a different opinion about it.

reply

Totally agree. If this movie showed anything new about the case I would watch it but it won't so...won't spend my money because of Foster or O'Dowd. They have better films coming out and I'm sure they'll have other opportunities to call people's attention in the future. This film might even hurt their careers if it's badly received.

reply

Great director. Good writer. Good actors.

I can see why you don't waht to see it.

reply

And just because on paper it sounds good it means the result will be amazing on screen? Haven't you seen The Ladykillers, All The King's Men, Alexander or Movie 43? That doesn't mean anything.

reply

Going by your opinion, nothing historical should ever be made into a movie because we already know the ending. 

reply

It's called a biopic. Look it up. It's a whole sub-genre of film. There have been hundreds made. They're actually pretty common.

reply

It makes a changes from the Superhero comic book films that are clogging up the cinema theses days. Far to many of them being made.

I agree as well, it's like all these Steve Jobs movies, they are all the same!
