As much as I like Jaa, this is good news. Van Damme has been campaigning for a Kickboxer or Bloodsport sequel for years. I'm happy for the legend.

A sequel is one thing, but a remake with JCVD replacing Chow as the teacher is a joke and reeks of desperation from JCVD.
I cannot take him or this project seriously.
It might be a little weird seeing him play that role,but anyway if hes involved I need to watch,I am an action buff

I haven't seen the original but I agree Van Damme doing this reboot is nice. I know there are a few sequels but I won't watch them.

I don't have problem with Van Damme being the movie in fact I am very excited,but its just that he is playing Chow,I am sure somebody is gonna shout whitewash as this movie gets closer to release

I would love to see JCVD as the teacher/mentor. It wouldn't be right if he wasn't in this remake as a major character. He is one of the best 80's action stars, that is why he was added to The Expendables. I don't care who he plays as long as he is in there. I would much have rather have seen him as Kurt again training a next generation. It would have worked, cause Americans always want to compete with Thai fighters, it never changes. We'll see what happens

There is only one little problem, Kurt died in Kickboxer 2...
Now you will probably say Kickboxer 2 to 5 don't exist to you, but they do, and even tough 3 and 4 are trash, 2 and 5 are actually pretty cool. 2 is almost a retell of 1 only it happen in America. 5 is pretty different and does not include a Sloan but Mark Dacascos is pretty cool and i liked the story.

As much as I'm a fan of Jaa I'm glad that Van Damme is doing this. Though, in a perfect world, both of them would be in the same movie 😥
