Shoulda just made it a female kickboxer movie.

Just have JCVD teaching Carano old school and have her kinda repeat what she did years back in Thailand. I think that would be great and it wouldn't exactly be a remake or another fighting movie for men. Plus I she's really fun to look at, popular, and tough as nails.

for some reason martial arts movies hardly ever make it to theaters, these types were an exception, the movies that do almost always end up being more about a romance or stunts and cable-work, they're hybrid films now, long live the good ole days of martial artists playing actors rather than actors pretending to be martial artists like today
