They asked Adkins to play David not Kurt?

Here I was reading about this movie, and hoping Scott Adkins would play the lead. He's perfect and definitely my #1 choice. Then I read that he was asked to play the part of the older brother David, and he said no because the part was too small and didn't let him show off his action skills very well.

Now why the heck would they not ask him to play the lead, Kurt? He needs more leading roles, he could be the next big action star. Whose dumb idea was it to ask him to play a secondary character and not the lead? Instead we get some newcomer when Scott is more than capable of taking the lead role.

Just seemed kind of odd. Anyone know the full story behind it?

My guess is he's just too old to play the younger brother.

Would've loved to see him in the lead role nevertheless.

Yeah it does seem to be skewed a bit younger, I agree. I kind of understand though, Adkins is almost 40 after all. But he doesn't look anywhere near it. JCVD looked older than 28-29 when kickboxer first came out, they could have said 35 and I would have believed it. So if they had said Scott's character was 35 I would believe that age for him. Anyway, I think you're right, the age thing is what held him back...

the guy playing Kurt is not that much younger than Scott,He is only 34 and Darren Shalavi was 42 when he was cast as David,so Scott could have worked as Kurt
