I grew up watching Kickboxer, huge fan of the original but the 2016 movie simply sucked. Very bad acting, no story, just a bunch of guys training and fighting each other from the start to the end with no apparent reason. G St Pierre maybe be one of the best mma fighters in history but he acts like an amateur college boy. He just cant act. Velasquez and Werdum have zero contribution to the plot and only exist in the movie for promotional reasons. Their presence is actually pointless. As for the main protagonist, he spends more time showing his muscles and kicking @ss than speaking.

Only good things in the movie is the always interesting J C Van Damme and Bautista who looks ok as Tong Po and very intimidating, although I my POV Michel Qissi was more menacing and realistic.

I would ve given it a 7/10 if there was better character developent.

I gave it 4/10 - 4 Being only due to JCVD being in it.

I can't belive what jean claude is doing, how can he deliver such a bad *beep* movie? This was one of the worst *beep* movies I have ever seen.

2/10 review.

All they had to do was watch the original film and try and copy it. That would have been far superior to the rubbish they created.

5/10 is generous. If I ever meet JCVD in person I'm going to ask for my time back, because he wasted it. It's pretty bad when JCVD is the best actor in the film. Hell the lead guy isn't even an actor, he's a stuntman.

6/10 mainly for the last half hour, which wasn't bad. The rest of it sucked. The side by side dancing was funny during the end credits.

And though I like Bautista, he was nowhere near as badass as Qissi was in the original.
