I'm curious how in depth they will go on Tong Po's chartacter and how similar he will be to the original.
They overdid it in the original, he had better not rape the guy's girlfriend or cheat in some way in this version, have him be Ivan Drago evil.

There is not much more than the first Tong Po. Bautista bring something different, he talks more but he doesn't have too many scenes especially in the middle of the movie. He is more the perfect underground champion that no one can defeat.

I've seen it last night, Tong Po is very different from original movie. He's more archetype of "ruthless but honorable warrior".
Batista is huge and he does look intimidating, but I prefer original Tong Po because he was a sleazebag and psycho. Here, while Batista does a solid job and he definitively looks the part, Tong Po doesn't have much of a personality and little what he does have is pretty much stereotype. You can find characters like him in pretty much any modern fight move.
sort of an amalgamation of the original Tong Po and Brakus from Best of the Best 2?
