Chances are, the dialogue was unusable & they either couldn't afford to get him back in to redub it himself or he didn't want to.

I cant believe this whole dubbing thing has reared its ugly head once again in a Kickboxer movie. In Kickboxer (1989) Eric who was played by Dennis Alexio had his voice dubbed over for all DVD releases onwards, and it sounds like s hit.

Really? I first saw Kickboxer on TV in the US in the early 1990s. My dad had a copy on VHS most likely recorded from Pay Per View and I watched that many times. I got the DVD in the mid 2000s and I never noticed Alexio's voice was dubbed. I've also heard him talk in YouTube uploads of some of his old fight interviews and it sounds like the same voice on my DVD.
