Special unique products

Once again we have gone to a company, that makes something completely new. The problem with it mostly is the lack of profit and probable bankruptcy. Marcus comes to the rescue and funds the future. Once it is done, and he has fixed the owners mental issues, it is all wrapped up with a potential future. This usually comes with major expansion, possible franchises, new business connections and different products.

The one detail that is lost completely almost every time is the original concept of the owner. Instead of adjusting the mistakes and continuing on to success, he basically eliminates the past and shows them how to make money. He could just tell them up front that their idea was bad to start with. Even the name is changed to not confuse it with anything special.

Marcus turns one of kind ideas into mass market boredom.

Sometimes I agree sometimes I don't. Marcus says he likes products with broad appeal.

Perhaps with the candle business the guy could have come up with another niche product but I think what he was doing was the best he could do. I thought the burned candle look was ugly. Obviously some people liked it but not enough to sustain the business.

I see that too.

Some ideas might are rubbish financially, but lets say someone makes just enough to break over even, why shouldn't he continue what he likes? Marcus really seems to discard those ideas rather quickly.

Marcus always says, he isn't a consultant, so I can see what he wants to do.

The guys who produced drums still produce drums, just more variety and with a better process, so their business seemed to align with what Marcus wanted.

I rather wonder how Marcus shops are doing. In the episode with the sign-maker guys he brought them to fix one of his camping stores. It was clearly in the middle of the day and they tried very much not to film the parking lot. There wasn't lots of business going on.
