Car people??

A Rolls with satellite aided transmission?! Really?

What would the transmission in a car need a satellite for? This is a genuine question, id be really interested to know if that even makes sense?

Come on man it's a spy movie parody...

Yeah I'm well aware of that thanks.
If they wanted to get a location on a car, especially a car like that, then they could have just located the lowjack. But, they specifically mentioned satellite assisted transmission.

I would think that satellite aided transmission would be a feature of one of the modern self driving electric cars. I have seen Ford Mustangs and Chevy S10 pick ups that have been modified with fully electric engines and no longer used gasoline. They could go 60 MPH for about 100 miles between charges. That was in 2004 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Google says they have modified Lexus to be a self driving cars but they don't say anything about satellite aided transmission on their promo link below. Since they use GPS to navigate and sensors to detect objects, they have to know how to pick up speed and slow down without driver intervention.

It makes sense to me even though I know this is a parody movie. Specifically the James Bond movies gadget cars that can go under water or have stuff like pop up helicopter blades and parachutes.

In real life driving, you gear down (clutch/manual transmission) to help reduce speed of your vehicle when you are coming into a tight curve in combination with applying the brakes. You can pull the automatic transmission gear shift from drive to low as well. Truck drivers are taught gearing down in their driving school.

Books and movies are usually better than real life.

Is that what it is?
Could you please explain what it even is?
I thought the transmission was just the gears that made the car drive, but there's obviously more to it than that.

Like I said above, they made a specific reference to it, when they could have just traced the lowjack or whatever, so I assume they do have it?
