creepy soundtrack from the original

Okay the soundtrack for this movie did not hold a candle to the original. Its too bad they could not have used it for this one because its so haunting and describes the mood of everything going on. In fact if you read all the books that original soundtrack fits the mood of the novels too. So Gothic. I believe in this movie they should have done a better job with the gothic imagery like they did in the original. More shots of the mansion with gothic imagery of the yards etc. In the original the shots of the mansion made it look like a castle out of some sad fairytale the music just fit perfectly.

I agree.

But, then anything that is creepy about this movie was gone the minute Heather Graham appeared on screen. I just thought she was atrocious in Flowers

That's a brilliant soundtrack by Christopher Young. Still listen to it now. Very haunting. Haven't seen this remake yet but I doubt the soundtrack will be as great as the original.

I completely agree! That music is so perfect and beautiful, the imagery and the mood was so much gloomier and appropriate. And also I just adore Louise Fletcher as this grandmother. Check out the piano cover of Flowers in The Attic by Christopher Young on youtube, it is such a gorgeous version of the song. The music to such a story couldn't be any more perfect
